Freezes analyzing subtitles from HD

Hello Forum,
I am a newbie in this Forum. So I beg your indulgence should
I ask something that I should already know. I have tried to do my homework and read the Q&As, User manual, threads, etc., without finding anything on my issue.

I try to generate SVCD with 2 audio channels stereo plus two
selectable subtitles (SVCD, not China nor permanent). I have
the files copied to the HD. DVD2SVCD starts log, and writes
"Analyzing Subtitles". Then freezes.

I have tried:
- from the DVD drive directly, with subtitles
- from the HD, without subtitles
- using DVDx 0.7, permanent subtitles
All those seem to work (at least no freeze, I have not followed till the end).

Obviously, I am interested in the one that freezes. Any
help is welcomed!

Configuration:
W98SE, DVD2SVCD 1.0.7 Build 4 (Build 1 bundle + b3 update +
b4 update)

can you just try one chapter to debug

try
--one audio channel, one sub
--one audio channel, two subs
--two audio channels, one sub
--two audio channels, two subs (like you already did)

Testing done.

Anytime I select to include subtitles VCD2SVCD freezes.

Could it be a bug?
