DVD Ripping

Hello!

Now i searched around the web but no one could help me so please...Which codec should i use to get one dvd on one cd? i reas through the guides, but there are not exact information! divx (if i rip with divx 3 for example does it get as big as divx 4?)? What is with wmv or asf files? And why do i get a very bad result if i rip with divx 5 - the movie is not the size i selected and has green lines and you can´t really watch it.. So please anyone answer...

hi,
i think everybody has his own favorite encoding method, but atleast there is no 'perfect' method. you also cant encode every movie with the same settings. wmv and asf are formats from mircosoft. what settings did you use with divx 5? did you use a cracked codec?
excuse me for my english, im from germany ;)
