I just came across with this cdrom-guide.com site and one forum is about Video CD. And one guy claims there is really not much difference between VCD and SVCD and that SVCD is not worth the extra time.

So for those who encode VCD and SVCD, can u really tell the difference? Because I do, esp when I view it in the larger screen.

of course svcd is better. whether it is noticeable depends on your tv. at my 32" widescreen jvc svcd is MUCH better.

Why would you trust this guy's words? He is a pirate, doing it for commercial reasons, ripping off people and probably does not want to invest the time and effort it takes to do a decent SVCD.
Yes, there is a huge difference between VCD and SVCD ... unless you watch it on a crappy 10" TV.

That Video_Arcade dude must be a #$#$### moron... First of all he claims that he can make a standard VCD better than SVCD on top of that he is ripping poor ppl off selling his lame ass VCD rips... This pisses me off!! :angry:
