I’ve been using AVI2SVCD 1.08 (I think) to make SVCD’s out of DivX files by preprocessing them in virtual dub (adding letterboxing and serving uncompressed audio/video etc.) for some time…(work(s/ed) great!)

But in AVI2SVCD 1.09 I can’t get this to work. I’ve tried reinstalling the frame client handlers + proxyon.reg/proxyoff.reg. The signpost file opens just fine in another virtual dub window. But AVI2SVCD wont accept the signpost file (it doesn’t matter if its *.vdf or *.avi)

I’m not blaming this entirely on AVI2SVCD 1.09 it might have something to do with that I just started using Virtual Dub 1.4.9 or maybe I’m just to stupid to figure out how to configure the frame server correctly… Is this maybe a limitation in the new .avi reader routine? Do I have to go back to an older version? If so witch one?

Any help would be greatly appreciated …Thanks!

So, why are you using vdub? Is it just for resizing? If so, you might consider avs with a vfapi wrapper. I know that will work. See the post below about multiple avi's.

yes that works... but without the audio... and most movies are useless without audio :P

"... but without the audio... "

???, audio works fine with this method, what am I missing?

This might be me doing somehing wrong.. but if i use Avi Synth with;

avisource("film.avi")

There is no audio when i open the avs in bsplayer/MS WiMP.

When i add the avs in VFAPI the "include audio" option is grayed out.

I'm using AviSynth v.1.0 beta 5

To the best of my knowledge that would be what would happen if you used DirectShowSource, but not avisource. You should get sound with avisource. I double checked on three machines.
