Can't reach the end of the movie

Hi all:

I am using DVD2AVI 1.76 to create a project file to load it later in Nandub (according to the SBC guide), but the problem is that DVD2AVI seems unable to reach the end of the movie; using the preview feature, DVD2AVI stops in the middle of the end credits, and the same happens if I load the project file (the "...vfapi.avi" file) in Nandub and play it till the end. (And actually, if I load the VOB files in FlaskMPEG and preview it, it also stops at the exact same point in the end credits... almost as if there was a VOB file missing or something).

Based on the above, I suspect that the problem might be because I didn't rip the movie correctly, but I can't think of anything that I did wrong during the ripping (used SmartRipper 2.36 with the "backup" option, to copy the whole DVD), so I'm asking whether anybody else has experienced the same and what could be the possible causes. Aside of this, BTW, everything else went smoothly: the resulting movie has excellent quality, the sound is perfect and there are even subtitles, so I don't think I missed any data when ripping... and yet, there are about 2 minutes of end credits that I can't reach. Why?

Try using SmartRipper in "movie" mode instead. It will automatically pick angle 1 of the longest program chain.

Umm... a bit late for that, I'm afraid, since I no longer have the DVD with me... :)

Anyway, there's something I don't understand. I thought that the backup mode copied *all* of the VOB files in the DVD to the hard drive? If that's the case, how could it have missed anything? (I needed to use "Backup" because I wanted to rip a couple of extras that came with the DVD too).

you dont need the dvd, you can use smartripper with the vob files on your hd. (if there are no files missing)

In Movie mode you are still able to pick out other program chains. You are not limited to the initial chain.

I know, but it's more cumbersome :). You have to rip the segments one by one, instead of copying all the VOBs and play with them at your leisure...

Anyway, I tried using SmartRipper again on the ripped files I have on my hard disk ("movie mode" this time)... and guess what? After ripping the 95% of the movie it stopped, saying "RIP complete". And of course, after opening the new VOB files in DVD2AVI, the movie got interrupted in the end credits, in the same point than before.

At this point, it does look as if I missed some file when ripping the DVD in the first place, although I don't remember anything wrong (which isn't surprising, if SmartRipper shows such misleading messages: it stops at 95% and says "RIP-complete"??? Hello???) I'll try to get the DVD again and will post if I have any other problems.
