I'm stumped!
I've followed this guide (CCE & IfoEdit) down to the letter and it works great, except for one thing. In ChapterXtractor, the times end with anything from 00 to 99, as shown in the guide. However, in Scenarist, i can't seem to create scenes with those exact times. For instance, if ChapterXtractor shows the timecode as xx:xx:xx:59, and I type that into the properties of a scene in Scenarist, Scenarist automatically changes the time to xx:xx:xx:25. What is going on here? I've talked to several others and they saw that since the movie is 29fps, the last digit can't be >29. But ChapterXtractor clearly shows higher numbers than this. Is there a way to put these numbers into Scenarist, or a way to calculate the correct number that Scenarist will accept?

I haven't found a calculator that could convert the decimal timecodes into framenumbers.. so I asked derrow to implement that in the next version. What you'd have to do is adapt the decimal scale to the frame scale.. if 100ms are 29.97 frames you take the timecode from chapterXtractor, multiply by 29.97/100 and round to the nearest integer.. of course it requires that the framenumbers you set in cce for the chapters are accurate.. if not no DVD authoring tool can do anything.. chapters must begin with an I frame

Ok well that method you described basically gives me the timecode that is in IfoEdit, right? For instance, 00:03:42:50 = 00:03:42.15
That makes sense to me, however, In Scenarist, if I enter 00:03:42:15, it changes it to 00:03:42:09. And I know I set the chapters in CCE using the Micro DVD Player format output from ChapterXtractor. So why is the I frame at 00:03:42:09 instead? How can i get the I frames to be the exact same as the ones in IfoEdit?

OK I have been doing a little experimenting, to try to find a way to make this work. Here's what I've come up with so far.
1) I load the movie into Scenarist, then open up the original ifo using IfoEdit. Also, I open up the movie in PowerDVD, start the movie, and hit pause.
2) Using the timecode jump window in the top left of Scenarist, I type the chapter time in according to IfoEdit, BUT NOT EXACTLY. Instead I use this format--- hh:mm:(ss+1):00
3) I press Create Scene, then click on the scene created so that I can see a thumbnail of where my chapter is.
4) I use the navigation buttons in PowerDVD to jump to the chapter I'm inputting, and check that the thumbnail matches the actual start of the chapter in the original movie. It does.
5) I repeat steps 2 thru 4 for each chapter. Sinces there's a cell without a chapter, I enter that in the same format (hh:mm:[ss+1]:00)at the end of everything.
This is the closest I've been able to make the chapters match. If I use hh:mm:ss:ms it is ALWAYS off. I'm not exactly sure why I have to enter hh:mm:(ss+1):00 into Scenarist, but for some reason it seems to work, or at least get the closest of any technique so far. Do you have an idea of why this works? Can you use this technique to figure out what in the world is going on with this chapter-matching-technique? It still seems like CCE is creating an I-frame a couple ms off from the original...
