After using DVD Decrypter to rip to my hard drive, and then using Xmpeg to converto an .AVI file, I was trying to use Quicktime Pro and Sorenson 3 compressor to convert the file to a quicktime movie... however evey single file I try comes up short, never encoding the entire avi file... I finally gave up and downloaded windows media encoder 7.1 to encode to .wmv files instead... but I've got a dual G4 just waiting to be used with quicktime pro, iMovie and final cut pro... any suggestions? .wmv can not be opened by any of these apps by the way...

open your avi in virtualdub and save as uncompressed avi(you will require a sh*t load of HD space for this).also demux your audio to wav and put audio and video into quicktime pro seperatly.
this way qtpro won't have any issues with the compressed formats in your avi.
