Lightning,

I am getting what I think is a ASPI Intialisation problem when trying to rip DVD's.

When using DVD Decrypter 2.4

I get the following in a pop up error box

ASPI Intialisation Failed
Error: General Internal ASPI Failure

I hit OK and everything seems fine however if in
Tools, Settings , I uncheck the "Authenticate DVD Drives"

Everything fires up fine first time ....

Try running version 3.0.0.12
I get No Devices Detected

Ultimately I want to extract .ac3 and .m2V files for DVD authoring

There seems to be no similar option in version 3.0.0.12

I am running Win2K SP2 and a Samsung DVD drive if this is relevant

I did not get this problem in Win98SE

Many thanks

I hope this gave you a clue as to the problem!

>ASPI Intialisation Failed
>Error: General Internal ASPI Failure

;)

You really shouldnt be using 2.4 anymore - 3 is muuuuuuuuuuch better.

I agree with your comments about ver 3
However ver 2.4 did let you decrypt when you had ASPI problems and did tell you what the problem was.

Ver 3 leaves you guessing .............

Keep up the good work

2.4 didnt use aspi for that actual ripping...only for authentication. Thats why it would still work.

3 doesnt leave you guessing about aspi problems...you just need to look in the log! Press the 'L' key to bring up the log.
