Ok, you guys obviously know a heck of a lot more about this stuff than I do, so I hope someone will read this who knows the answer.
I have a movie on 2 CDs that is good quality AVI with Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Codec audio. However, it was encoded in 480x208 ratio when it should have been NTSC 352x240. All I want to do is change the ratio and be able to burn it back onto 2 CDs.
I have NanDub 1.0rc2 and TMPGEnc 2.53. The movie was encoded at 1150 VBR.
I have tried several times and several ways to do this and I can manage to change the aspect ratio, but either there is no sound or the file is huge or I get errors or lockups in WMP and PowerDVD trying to play the output.
If you answer this, please be very clear and simple; I am not very familiar with video encoding. Do I need to separate the audio from the video first? What format? Do I also need to extract the video without audio and then put them back together? With TMPGEnc? Is it possible to change the ratio in NanDub, or do I need to use VirtualDub or something else? After I change the ratio, do I need to (how do I) crop the black borders for wide screen?
Any help appreciated.
