Has anyone successfully converted the Disney Tarzan DVD? I have tried it both with Internal Routines as well as vStrip with no success. The process crashes each time at different points during the encoding. I will include my latest log file below. Any suggestions or guideance is appreciated.

BTW, I have done about 20 successful DVD to SVCD conversions, including the Disney cartoon "Jungle Book". These were all done with previous versions up to and including the latest DVD2SVCD version.

Thanks.

If you think that it is a ripping problem, use another ripper to rip the VOBs to your hard drive and then pipe those VOBs back through the internal routines. Make sure you select a different folder for ripping than the one with the already ripped VOBs.

I see that you're doing a single pass VBR encode. Is there a reason you're using so high of a minimum bitrate? This could possibly be causing you a problem. If you're not concerned about the number of CDs used and you really want the bitrate to stay above a certain level, I would suggest a CBR encode, plus, it will be alot faster.

Good Luck.

I saved this to notepad once from a post taht was made here.. I dont know who created it, but I give him/her credit for a great workaround :)

Try these settings:

ok under bitrate change your settings to so.
all your cd sizes change to 796mb
from left to right change the max bitrate to 2400, your min bitrate to 1900, uncheck your min average(i dont use it) and lastly your max avg. to 2250. leave all the other things checked as they are default.

now to the cce tab. choose a 1 pass vbr. change your q factor to 5
change your image quality priority to 5 as well.
leave everything else checked as it was by default.

I had problems with cinerella2, and road to eldorado and they kept freezing/cce crashing..these settings worked and made a great copy of it :)

Good luck!

Actually, those are the settings I use all the time....I got them from the same post somewhere here on this board. They have worked great for me except for Tarzan.

Marks430-

Thanks for the suggestion of re-ripping the VOBs. I restarted DVD2SVCD and activated DVD ripping with internal routines, but I pointed it to the IFO and VOBs from a previous rip using vStrip. IT WORKED! The encoding went fine, but then I ran into a crash with bbmpeg during the muxing. I restarted a couple of times with no luck, so I defragged the partition I use just for DVD2SVCD output and restarted it. That did the trick, it completed just fine. Thanks again for the idea of re-ripping ripped VOBs, I would never of thought of trying that.

Thanks all for your responses.....:)
