Why can't I get it to work

My audio won't sync! No matter what I do.

I have tried it with DivX 5 & 4.12 and no matter what it won't sync.

I used Everwicked guide and I tried the ogg format but it also won't sync using mp3.

I have tried Graphedit, Headac3he DVD2AVI w/ internal mp3 compressor.

Same thing

Now the video is chopping and in some case completely stopping while the audio continues and vice versa (audio stopping and video continuing).

So have you tried Doom9's guide? How are you encoding your video? Are you including the delay when you mux?

The way I encode the video:

1. Smartripper I use stream processing so I don't waste space.
2. DVD2AVI
- I Select 64 - Bit Floating point algorithim.
- I Tried both Force Film and No Force Film.
- Sound I demux all tracks.

3. The next step I have tried using TMPG (When I didn't force film). This I used to try and get the fps to 24. It ended up even choppier. (if that is even a word).

4. If I didn't try TMPG then I converted the d2v file with VFAPI Reader Codec v1.04b.

5. Then I tried using avisynth in gordion Knot and I tried not using aviynth at all.

Then I finally go into VirtualDub and started encoding. 2 pass encoding and the bitrate that GKnot gave me was 990. So I used that. Then Res was 624xXXX ( I can't remember but the aspect ratio was from GKnot frames*bit/pixel .208)

Then I have tried transcoding the audio in Gknot to mp3 and headac3he to ogg. Still the same problem and yes when I mux I remeber to put the delay in. Alwell, I go into frame rate and have tried checking and leaving unchecked the make audio and video match.

IS THIS NOT RIGHT? I have done it before and it worked but for that last month or so I have tried everything and I can't get it to sync.

Which player are you using? Wave Out or Direct Sound for your audio device? Are you using the DeDynamic filter in the player?

Your video encoding method with Gknot appear to be fine and shouldn't be a problem at all. How are you setting the bitrate in Vdub that Gknot suggests? Why not let Gknot perform the entire video encoding for you? Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you. Can you clarify this part?

What soundcard are you using and what are your interleave settings when muxing in NanDub. Sorry for all the questions:D

The player can make a big difference. For example, "The Playa" from divxnetworks does not support abr or vbr mp3 -- it doesn't fail, it just loops sound every few seconds while the video continues to play.

I figured it out... It seemed to be the AC3 File that I was using. I re did DVD2AVI and selected decode and then I used made the audio from the WAV file and it works great.

3 Questions Though.

1. When DVD2AVI produces a WAV file do you still need the delay when muxing.

2. What is a De Dynamic Filter for the player?

3. What is the purpose of downsampling from 48 000 hz?
