Need more info dood.
the most basic and most important thing is to make sure you have a AUDIO_TS and a VIDEO_TS folder on your burnt dvd(same as on the original).and make sure your dvd player supports the dvd format your burning to eg.DVD-RW,DVD-R(pioneer burner)or DVD+RW(hp101 Burner).

thanx for reply, you got it in one!, i wasnt putting on the VIDEO_TS or AUDIO_TS files, i was opening them before i burnt the disc.....sorry im still learning this whole thing!.anyways the disc plays great in my pc but wont play in my stand alone, my standalone recognises the DVD no error message like no disc etc....but wont play, im guessing the discs that im using maybe not compatabile!
On that note what are the best most reliable -R/-RW for a Pioneer AO3, as at the moment im just using cheapo`s..............

theres quite a bit of controversy about this at the moment.
cheap(non pioneer)discs are as good as the pioneer ones but because there not pioneer the drive only allows them to be burned at 1x
where as pioneer discs burn at 2x.
this should change soon.
are you just reburning the original files without modifiying them(say in ifoedit)?
the disc won't be the prob.if you are only doing a 1to1 copy to
dvd-r(w) it should be fine.therefore the only thing i can think of is your player isn't compatible with the dvd format(in your case DVD-R(w)).What player do you have??.What burner software do you use??
when you burn a dvd you have to burn it in the UDF file format(iso compatible).
Make sure ALL of the original files are inside the VIDEO_TS folder(the AUDIO_TS folder is usually empty unless the audio comes in any format other than ac3)

Hey Cruncher ty for your reply,at the moment i have been ripping the main files using dcrypter, then vobrater and finally ifoeditor, i find if i burn the files using Instant CD+dvd,*DATA* the film will work great on my PX2, but not my standalone (sony).......But if create an image using ifoeditor then use Instant CD+DVD *RAW/ISO the film plays great on my standalone and my PX2.....somethink to do with UDF/ISO i guess......like i say very new to this so sorry for sounding so dumb!........but thanx for taking the time to reply
