Safe mode - stupid question

Ok - i'm running v107 build 4.
I've got one particular movie which crashes CCE.
I select safe mode (VFAPI) - it then pops up the VFAPI app, then sits there waiting.
I'll probably get pounded for being such an ass - but what is needed next? Do i load and convert the avs script? If so, do i then load CCE manually?

No, its not a dumb question at all. I had the same thing happen to me. D2S had me fix something in the registry. I am very sorry but I do not remember what it was. Maybe when he is finished with a project he is working on for work he can remember for me :)

Try to do the conversion by hand and then see if CR will recover [I doubt it]. In the meantime I'll see if I can remember what it was that fixed it for me.

So, if you go to the dvd2svcd>vfapi>reader directory and use the reader to convert an avs file manually, what happens if you play it in mplayer? If it does not play go to the vfapi>codec directory and right click on vifp.inf and select install then check if it will play.
