Pink artifacts in BW Movie !?!

I've encoded a digital satellite capture (MPEG 2 file) in DivX 5 Pro Ad-Version (DVD2AVI 1.76 => VFApi 1.04 => VirtualDub 1.4.9) and got pink artifacts in a BW movie (see atachment).

The only filter used where "Null Transform" cropping from 480x576 to 472x576. DivX 5 Settings: 3 Pass, 880kbit, Use GMC, Use Bidirectional Encoding, Max Keyframe Intervall 250, Scene change treshold 50%.

Any ideas?

If you took the time to look at the post titled 'Pink "lines" when encoding with DivX5', you would have realized that your problem is likely due to the fact that the width of your video is not divisible by 16.

The height is a multiple of 16 (as mentioned in your post). Seems the for width the same restrictions apply => Will continue using 3.11 SBC cause nearly all my DigiSat captures are 472 width after cropping.
