I'm using gordian knot 0.21b with windows 98SE - The problem I'm having is during the encoding process... during encoding, I always get an error saying: WARNING - number of frames counted does not match the actual number of frames. It adjusts the bitrate automatically, but I wind up with a movie that's 300 or 400 mb bigger than I expected. I can't seem to get a 700mb movie... instead, they are all over a gig! This has happened with 6 out of 7 movies I have ripped, and I wind up compressing them with virtual dub again which can bring about a great loss of quality.

Perhaps the warning has nothing to do with the size problems, but I do wonder because from what I can tell, everything is set up correctly. I'm hoping this is a simple problem that many starters have.

I've been using the 4.12 codec, so maybe I should try the 3.11 codec?

Thanks,
Stanky

1) Copy and paste a Gknot log file into the thread. Someone may be able to see what the problem is.

2) The most recent version of GKnot is 0.23, it adds compressability testing to DivX 4 encoding.

WARNING - number of frames counted does not match the actual number of framesYou are doing IVTC and haven't adjusted the framerate to 23.976 is my guess.
