Hi!

For some reason I am only able to rip one disc into HD,
after that I get Aspi-errors: "SBR did not complete without error" or something like that and "No seek complete" or "CIRC error".

My OS is WinXP and I have installed the Adaptec's Aspi-layer 4.70.
My mobo is MSI Pro2-Ru flashed with the Kunibert Bios, and with Via 4in1 Driver 4.37 + Via IDE Performance drivers.

If I have burned one DVD-R, after that the ripping seems to succeed one time as well.

Anybody know what is the matter with my LiteOn and what I could do to solve the problem? I already did a fresh OS-install, but the problem did not go away. Although things got better, earlier I was only able to rip at 2x, now I reach 13x at best.

One solotion could be to use a non-Aspi -needing ripper, but does such thing exist?

Thank You for any help,

Teko

Either the disc is scratch, dirty etc...or your drive is on its way out. The errors are nothing to do with ASPI, the errors are generated by the drive...ASPI simply decodes them into english - or at least something that the programmer (probably me in this case) can decode into english. :)
Ripping via WinIO (the alternative to ASPI) - like what smartripper does will produce the same errors. Only smartripper doesnt display a proper error message...just a generic one.

Hmm... My LiteOn is now 2 months old.
I have checked that no IDE-cable is loose inside
the computer. Strange indeed.

The discs that I have tried are ok, no dirt/scratches visible.

I do like the DVD Decrypter -program and it's good to know it's not the program or the ASPI-layer. Perhaps I have to try another DVD-player, e.g. the A03 in the future for the purpose if that would give better results.

Thank you for the info,
