I'm trying to play an anamorphic SVCD on the computer with powerdvd or windvd but i can't play it with the right aspect ratio.
In full screen mode there are no black bars.
How can i play it with black bars?

This really isn't specific to DVD2SVCD so the post has been moved.

In WinDVD I know you can manually adjust the aspect ratio by pulling on the corner if keep aspect ratio is unchecked.

If it's in windowed mode, the AR is correct? Then you should check the "preserve aspect ratio" option in PowerDVD.
If the AR is always wrong, uncheck it and you will be able to manually resize it.

PowerDVD 4.0 plays anamorphic SVCDs in the correct aspect ratio, but WinDVD 3.0 doesn't for me.

Greetings from Canary Islands.

Hello. Let's make a test:

Open WinDVD and instead of playing the SVCD from disk, open the play list window and search for the .dat file in the SVCD.

Play it and you will find that it's correctly formatted for the screen, just like PowerDVD does.

I think that the fact is that Nero assumes that the SVCD IS 4:3 not 16:9.

I don't know much about SVCD, but is there any flag that sets the output format to 16:9 instead of 4:3?

Maybe NERO only sets that flag to 4:3...

Playing the .mpg file off the SVCD via the play list in WinDVD doesn't make any difference - it still appears vertically stretched. Are you sure you're testing an *anamorphic* SVCD? Non-anamorphic widescreen SVCDs do play correctly in WinDVD.
NB: All my SVCDs are made by DVD2SVCD (not Nero).
