Very good tip! Thanks for posting. Perhaps you or another can write up a Q&A on this.

Thanks for the tip, however I have one question: If you proceed like this, a friend found out that the scenes with the director's comments are cut, but at the same time the corresponding parts of the film are deleted as well, so you would end up with a shortened version of the film. Can you confirm this, and is there any solution to do the "surgery" in a way only the comments are deleted, while preserving the actual film?

Hi Rubor01,

for "Planet of the apes" I cannot confirm this. I did the movie with the internal routines and selected the 1:55.11 track (I usually check the track length to see if there are different tracks) because of this in built feature of showing corresponding making of scenes and the directors comment.

And if you do so and let DVD2SVCD do the rest then the conversion proceeds without any errors and the whole scenes in there.

After reading your post I did a quick test as I still have the VOBs on my HD. And if you choose for example only chapter 5-6 for the conversion then indeed the scenes get lost because there is a special in-built feature during these chapters and it will not be encoded into the MPG if you only select chapters.

But again, this is not the case when ripping with internal routines and selecting the 1:55.11 track - then the conversion will be just fine.

Greetings,
