Hya,

i have reencoded a few movies now using CCE and multiplexed them with Scenarist so far no problem.
Now I have reencoded Forrest Gump using exactly the same settings as shown in the guide.
Only now when I try to multiplex with Scenarist it gives me a error that my bitrate is too high!
Please reduce the bitrate or the number of streams.
Anyone an idea to solve this problem?

Thanks.

I have the same problem. No matter what I set CCE max bitrate to, it always stays 9800.
Since I don't want to re-encode, I'm trying to change the max bitrate
to 8000 with DVDpatcher. It has worked once.
If someone has an explanation, I'd like to see it as well.

For DVD spec, maximum bitrate allowed is 9,8 Mbps, but is intended for video + audio + subtitles. If you have 1 or more audios 5.1 coded at 448 Kbps, you must to subtract this band from 9,8 Mbps to obtain video max bitrate.

If you just drop your 9800kb (9.570313mbps) to 9500(9.277344mbps). It will leave room for ac3 5.1(0.4375mbps) for a total of 9.714844mbps......ample room for your subs too.

Don’t check the DVD compliant option in CCE and it will not set the MAX bitrate always to 9800!

So I have to change the Max Bitrate in CCE for the Second Pass from 9800 to 9800 - 448 for each audio stream right?

But I checked my original video in Bitrate viewer and there is the max bitrate also 9800.
And if i disable "DVD Compilant" in CCE will I be able to use the DVD-r in my standalone?

Yes if your settings are correct and DVD Compilant! Lower Bitrate is not one of them!
