If Luminance masking has no positive value for the 1st pass (that's what it seems to me after consulting the help file), wouldn't it be more "user-friendly" to grey this option out in case of 1st pass encoding?
..could come in handy if Luminance masking is usefull only in the 2nd pass. I got the idea, because I made many stats files the last 3 nights and I'm not sure if I had enabled this option sometimes or not!

...keep up the good work guys and XviD will be 1st choice for video encoding very soon! :D - Though for me it is already ;)

greetz, Elbow!

It should be disabled for first pass already, but somehow that code got lost/doesn't work properly.

I didn't check the sources on lumamasking, but it should be hardcoded to be turned off in first pass anyways, no matter what you do there.

Anyways, we'll do some major rework with the GUI soon, so look forward happily for some new stuff to test in the next few days :)

Koepi

Ok, then I don't have to repeat the 1st passes for my 50 DragonBallZ episodes which occupy about 30GB of my HD...phew! ;)
...Did I mention that every Episode gets encoded @ 2 resolutions for testing purposes :D that makes about 100 1st passes I did the last three nights!
