Hi!
I got a big prob with ac3 under winxp (with SBAudigy):
when I play a movie on defaults (through direct-sound) it's OK
when separating channels, but I can hear some noises, sizzles.
When changed to wave-out - dolby surround only - the same from front and rear speakers. I tried to disable sound acceleration in DirectX and all I get is stereo sound on any outputs in bsplayer.
Powerdvd playing DVDs is ok, 4 channs, no noises; so maybe there is a way to make this cyberlink decoder (which I can choose in bsplayer) to play avi with ac3 not only as stereo (or Dolby Suuround2.0) but to make it work like inervideo's filters - 4, 6 or spdif?
Any ideas would be of great help, because I'm really getting angry on Audigy...(looks like a collision with DirectX drivers to me)... with Nightingale Pro 6 there were never problems of this kind.

Audigy:scared:

I have the Nightengale 6 also:D Isn't it great not to have problems with a sound card?:D

Now to the Audigy:devil: If your using SPDIF then you must choose Wave Out in the player. If your using analog then I'm not so sure it even matters. I've never really had any luck with the CyberLink filter in BSplayer. Do you have the latest drivers from the Windows Update site?

I might point you the Home Theater site? You most likely might find an answer in those forums. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/
Or perhaps another Audigy owener will come along here and offer guidance:)

There were few reasons to change from Nightingale to Audigy in my case - unpowered outputs which don't change the sound in the front speakers and lack of software to Zoltrix's card.
Now I use analog outputs for 4 speakers (2 external stereos) so I don't use SPDiF (btw: does anyone know how to change this minijack output to make it RCA in order to connect Audigy to the amplifier ? Haven't seen such a cable.)
I use directsound, because if I turn to waveout I got double stereo, which sucks bad. However, as I mentioned before directsound gives me some shitty noises while playing avi_ac3, not DVD - these are fine.
(Maybe it's because of the Iintervideo filters? dunno... but I have WinDVD 3.1)
Thanks for the link to that forum, maybe it will be of some use. (hope so...)
And I got the latest drivers for any of my piece of hardware. Just don't tell me I'll have to wait until DX9 is out
