testing my dvd-rips

hi

is there any chance of encoding only parts of the movie instead of the entire movie such that i can test various settings without having to wait so long? Under Video>Select_range i tried entering a section of movie which will be encoded, but when i pressed f8 for first pass encoding, it starts from the start of movie (not from seleceted scenes).

if anyone can give me a tip it would be great

You need a _complete_ stats file even if you just want to encode snippets.

in the second pass you can choose a range then, and nandub will use the propper corresponding range from the stats file.

okay, so say i encode the first pass, will that data be stored such that i can repeat my second pass a couple of times without having to encode pass 1 again?
