Hi
i use the gknot and the gknot guide for all the divX i made , and it was pretty good !i tried 2 days ago with a new dvd to make a legal copy of "1492, christophe Colomb" and that's the prob :
after the dvd2avi processs i had no ac3 files but
a "1492 MPA T01 0 ms.mpa"(suppose it's track #1). it's a 204 Mo file .in the dvd2avi window i saw sound : "mpeg audio". i listened to it with windows media player, no prob !
1) 1st i try it in the same way as usual (mp3 parameters engaged) but i saw in encoding process that azid has made a 0 Mo file and at the end no sound even the video was pretty good !
2) last time i tried with the "just mux option" but NO Sound !!!!
so what can i do, try it manually : try to mix it with nandub ? but it's a file format that doesn't appear in nandub audio menu !!

You can convert the .mpa file to .wav by loading into Winamp and choosing the Disc Writer plugin.

OR... you can use the neat BeSweet (http://dspguru.doom9.net)

Hum.... I should have been a bit more precise I think.

Just use BeSweet to convert your MPA file (MPEG-2 audio I guess) to MP3, so you can multiplex in your AVI. Unlike Gknot, BeSweet have MPA input support.

If you are lost with command line tools, use BeSweet GUI. Both are available in Doom9's software page.

No extra codecs needed. BeSweet includes all the needed stuff.

thx for the tip but i had an unknown error !
here is the command line
C:\WINDOWS\Bureau\besweet\BeSweetGUIv0.5\BeSweetGUI.exe" -core( -input "C:\WINDOWS\Bureau\1492\1492 MPA T01 DELAY 0ms.mpa" -output "C:\WINDOWS\Bureau\1492\1432.mp3" ) -azid( -z1 -b1 -g max ) -lame( -b 128 )

There is a mistake in your BeSweet GUI settings: in first text box ("besweet.exe") you MUST put here the path for command line "besweet.exe" (taken from doom9's page) and NOT "besweetgui.exe". Download besweet 1.2 and install in you desired path, then add proper path to first box.

You need both utilities since BeSweetGUI is just a GUI, it needs the original besweet to work.

In main BeSweet window check "Boost", and leave default parameters. This will make a loud mp3.

I have the same problem.
I put the sound in maualy by converting the .mpa to .wav then .mp3 in winamp but I cnat get the sync right its so verry hard when its just a little bit from perfect.
Can't I get Gknot to do it by clicking the use besweet option or something?

Yep, checking the besweet option worked fine.
So do you have an .mpa file just check that option and besweet will handle it.
