I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question, but I was wondering if it is at all possible to burn to a Compact Disk anthing that would be playable on a DVD-Rom?

I guess I'm also asking if a DVD player can read other file types than .vob (or whatever it is that a DVD reads).

I apologize again for the "newbie" question, but I'd just like to know if it'd be worth more time (I've been reading thru the "authoring guides", but they dont say whether it can or cannot be done).

Thanks,
Jamie

Depends on what you want it to read, and what the player is capable of playing.

For example many of the new DVD players will play: MP3, VCD, SVCD, etc.

You can find a compilation of the different media and DVD players here: http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php

If you are hoping for a DVD player that plays DIVX - I don't think there is one yet.

Hope this helps.
