hey there.

can anyone tell me if there's any known other program and if so where I can gettit from to rip straight from dvd to vcd using the likes of dvd2svcd or other quicker direct way like that but using CCE not tmpgenc...I'm used to using tmpgenc a lot previously while converting divx's or ripping dvds plenty of times, but for some bizarre reason on my dvd player, any mpg file thats made in tmpgenc converted by myself or any of mates (using step by step exactly) would play fine on the pc, but if played on my standalone player would occasionally go out of synch for a short while, then the video would speed up to catch up and be fine for a while then repeat, but any other vcds such as ones I've downloaded or copied etc would play no problems, and CCE files I've tried so far as svcd also play without any frameskipping like that so It'd be ideal if I can also use this to make standard vcds instead of tmpgenc.. I do prefer svcds for myself, but a lot of the time I need to do them for some other people too who can't read svcds so need to get a nice quick way like dvd2svcd way to automate all the process like that...surely there could be some template or other to load for it to set CCE to use mpeg-1 instead of mpeg-2 in it at the standard 1150br etc for standard vcd.

anyway, many thanks in advance,
Tuck

In general TMPG is better at doing Mpeg-1 then CCE. Thus it's better at making VCD's.

I know of know program to do this. The guides on Doom9 are pretty good and there is only a few steps.
