hihho ;)

i have a celeron 650mhz with 64mb ram (no possibilities (means money) to upgrade), i wanna look divx @640x480 via tv-out... seems that i just need a little bit more performance or (and thats my question) a really cool player

If you are running win xp, there are several process threads you can disable to free up resources. Try control + alt + delete to see which ones are running. Or, get the x-card at www.realmagic.com

im using win2k (thread priority:high)

i cant upgrade (its a little sweet small (but very quite) thing)

any other suggestions?

Well, I don't know what gfx card you are using for tv-out, but if you have your choice between clone mode and extended desktop, use the clone mode so your card won't have to render two separate displays. Also, check what programs are running at startup. I don't think w2k has msconfig.exe, but im sure you could download it, and then put it into your windows\system directory. There's always a bunch of crap that you don't need that loads into the background at startup.

Well, you can take a look on the players list at divx-digest.com
some of them claim they don't use too much ressource, BUT never use GDivX it's a BS player (I mean Bullshit)

...and so i use the monitor out (intel815 chipset), and the (guillemont) converter deluxe2 to take the signal to the tv.

i have the same machine as u got except the v. card.
after trying almost any player i can recomend u to use ZoomPlayer

and last ..try to use TVtool ... its improving the tv-out resoloution
and lots more

What about fast player ?
You can try to use Light Alloy if you don't want to consume your
CPU resources in vain.

This is wrong, most of the players use DirectShow, so only a bad player can be slower than another player... Bsplayer should help you, there is a different video renderer. Try it (what I am doing, lol)
