Make sure you have aspi drivers installed, if so make sure they are installed properly you can find a copy of the force aspi in the doom9 download section, also make sure before you start ripping to load the dvd movie in some type of software dvd player like Power Dvd or something, play the movie for a second then go to dvd2svcd and ripp it.

One more thing, this is not the place to be posting this type of question. Most posts should be posted in dvd2svcd/basic unless you have some new idea or test or something that is advanced then you post in here.

Moved to the basic forum as most questions belong here. Advanced is more for discussion of theory etc... now.

Definately try the force Aspi drivers linked in the Q + A. They are current and they have also been suggested to be used by WinXP sites.

Also try running the movie in WinDVD or PowerDVD for a few seconds. This authenticates the drive.

I do think that it's an Aspi driver problem though.

One of the easiest ways to check out your aspi layer is to launch Smartripper with a DVD in the drive. Note what the pop up on the left side of your screen says. Normally it will say something like aspi layer found and go away quickly after a list scrolls down. Then the main screen will come up. Do this and note what it says. If it say win I/O being used your aspi is screwed or not installed.

If you have XP get the specific aspi set that is in the Q&A. I know some have not had problems with the latest Adaptec set but I damn sure did.
