Hola,
this is getting out of hands, we're getting very popular it seems :)
"This FreeWebz account has expended its monthly bandwidth quota and will be frozen the rest of the month unless more bandwidth is purchased."
One good sign, bad on the other side since noone can access the binaries anymore...
Just wanted to let you know.
Regards,
Koepi
Yap, i can confirm that.
Man, this Xvid stuff is getting spread all over :D
Jeeezzee, thanks for the heads up,
When you've broken the bandwidth limit with <200kb file you know that your providing something popular :)
Your site's more popular than mine Koepi, you should get a counter or something :)
(Anyone notice its only the 8th of this month? Doh! Im gonna need some new space....A guy called Apu offered me some at www.rippers-delight.com....)

Hey, I'm downloading the binary's every 2 minutes, because of my fear to miss an update! ;) Have to abuse Koepi's webspace then...let's go! :D
Just looked up in the FAQ at freewebz.com
How much bandwidth do I get?
We offer up to 1000MB of user bandwidth per month....
Whoa! Thats alot of people downloading from my site :)
(can that be right???)

That would be 5000 downloads counting only the binaries.I would assume loading the webpage also does this but it would be a significantly smaller size.
Or DXn is dowloading the bins again and again so that the bandwidth will be used up. :D
Its weird, I made a little (700kb) zip of the DivX5 Pro Codec that installs using a little .inf file, & comes with a prog that loads the right regsitry info in.
I was just about to put that up there, that would have really screwed the bandwidth...doh

Someone had to hack DivX.com and replace the DivXProGainBundle.exe with the newest build...sounds sweet, eh? ;)
@Rui: Dont count me out of the running yet, I still have xvid.stormpages.com.... ;)

Wish granted, wrote a quick'n'dirty counter for the site ;)

MotherF**kers! They've kicked my main site (www.freewebz.com/nixstuff)
Didn't give a damn about the xvid one, but my nixstuff one is annoying (Lycos even send people to it, to get my plugins)
Oh well,
@Koepi: Wasn't quite a wish :) But might be very interesting....

I'll try to implement a "download-counter" later as well, dunno if that's wise if the MPEGLA sniffs around...
Regards,
Koepi
Thats a valid point!
Oh, & my bandwidth usage was 517Mb since about the start of the month, thats quite a lot of downloads, (seeing that XVID.zip is 125kb & the page is only 464bytes)
Cheers,

damn...now I know why your site was shut down! I left the IE open with your page and forgot that my F5 key has a loose contact... 8)

According to my ISP I'm nowhere near to using my allowed bandwidth. My traffic is about 80mb per day, but rising. Of course, I am paying for the hosting. Now all I need is a better url and access to the secret 25th hour in the day to read all the forums and my mail.

hehehe umaniac :)
btw., next release of XOE i'll add your url as well, i just saw that i only added Nic's.
I have implemented a script that fetches the binaries now on my site, some fancy things possible with that.
But unluckily the filenames at the save-as dialog are now "fetch.exe" ?! Anybody knows how to circumvent that?
Best regards,
Koepi

nic, after reading your host's TOS, u don't comply. they say no apps (i.e. .exe .rar etc), they didn't mention .zip though lol
