BeSweet v1.2 - good news for mp2 encoders

Hi all,
I've improved the sound quality of mp2 encodes in BeSweet v1.2.
it's also about 5% faster.
please d/l it from my webpage and give your feedbacks.

please switch back to using -azid( -g max ) instead of -ota( -g max ) when input is ac3. the speed imporvements would hardly be noticeable on ota.

@mods
- please publish a workaround batch "hack" file that maps "-azid( -g max)" into "-ota( -g max )".
- plz stick this post.

For us simple non programmer type, I think you are saying, "replace "-ota" with "-azid" in the command line. Yes? :p

If so, anybody can just copy the command line in the D2S log.txt and manually run this to try it (This will overwrite your old Encoded_audio_1.mp2 so rename it before hand if you want to keep it (why?). Then, just use Crash Recovery to remux if you wish.

If we leave the command line unchanged will the quality still be better or do we have to change the command line for that as well?
I ask because most times I hit go in DVD2SVCD and then go to bed, so speed isn't a huge issue, but quality always is.

"-g max" only affects speed.

no.. i don't have a donation page. afaik, dvd2svcd's donation page is jilted most of the time :(. so i thought to myself - if the huge amount of ppl who uses the truely best dvd to svcd conversion tool don't feel like donating, why would they want to donate to a ac3/wav/mp3/mp2 to wav/mp2/mp3/ogg tool ?
am i'm wrong.. ?

hehe, well although you have a larger potential user base, you know how cheap Divx'ers are! :D

And you are right, the majority of gpl type software users have a "trailer trash" mentality towards donating anything except their own selfish budget (beer, burp!). Doom9 and Dvd2Svcd and you provide the place and the method for great encodes, and yet, I would bet the donations made to them might cover, if they are lucky, the test disks they burn. Truly and amazingly sad :(

Edit: I GOT the solution! Just plant a subliminal message in the audio - "You are a cheap sorry piece of #$%# if you don't DONATE". Yep, that should do it! :devil:

It works, is real fast, sounds perfect and doesn't crash. What more feedback would you like? The only other feedback is you are one brilliant dude, and thanks from all of us :)

One problem. By converting a DVB File (Audio 48 khz-Mono) to *.mp2 File using DVD2SVCD with Besweet 1.2 you get as result an Mickey Mouse effekt.
The Audio is pitching up by halving the time value..
Any ideas ?

Ok just tried 1.2 in a few DVD2SVCD using -azid( -g max )
all i can say is WOW! GOOD JOB! my mp2's have
never sounded this good. So what changes were made between 1.1
and 1.2? cant find your changelog nowhere.

anyway there is one thing though

I seem to be getting a DC offset (i think this is what u call it)
when using the switch -ota( -g max ) but not always.
Just ripped "The Cell" and it had offset but "Clan of the Cave Bear"
did not.
What this does is produces a pop when audio first starts or when
any PBC button is pushed but plays fine after that.
You can see this offset in SoundForge also seems to only happen with
full movie mp2's but not 3 or 4 min clips.
This could be my computer acting up don't know for sure

but if I use -azid( -g max ) comes out BEAUTIFUL everytime.
Hey how about a "Edit Audio" button in DVD2SVCD. :)

I've done it like this : Expand mono to stereo using a wave editor, converting wave (stereo) to mp2 using lame.
Any suggestions to do it faster using your BeSweet?
