DVD2SVCD does not and cannot make VCD's.

There is a thread saying to try burning your mpg files in Nero as a VCD and that it works for some players, but I can't find it.

Deleted the post that was linked to.

Basically what that said was to create VCD's using the method in Doom9's guides with TMPG. It's pretty simple, but not a one step process.

If you are looking for a one-step solution for SVCDs, look into DVDx. There is a guide for it on doom9's pages, and it will do both VCDs and SVCDs. Lower resolution and bitrate will make the result less appealing than an SVCD.
Your player might support some X(S)VCD-like stuff - not sure about it, but I guess that's what markrb was referring to.

NB: Maybe this was the thread markrb was referring to: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16404 ?

smiller667 I looked for ten minutes for that post and couldn't find it and searching was a waste because I couldn't remember anything, but VCD and you need 4 charaters to search.

That is the post I was referring too.

Thanks Dudes I have a Sony DVP S300 about 1 1/2 years old and thats my only home player. It has always played VCDs that I burned with cdrwin or fireburner and it does play the a vcd after I do the vcd procedure from your thread. Its just off center and the corners are off the screen another one I tried is with an avi and it was huge (like it was zoomed in) If you only had an adjustment like you do on the front of your puter where you could move the screen around that would be great or unzoom it. The Vcds I made looked and sounded great no slop or drag in the audio. I just would like to see all the picture. Anyway thanks for the reply keep me posted if you hear of a fix. Signed
