Problem with colours

I have force filmed a movie and it looks to be interlaced.

I selected a deinterlacer and it seems to have worked as far as the combing is concerned.

the problem is... The red in ANY frame seems to be out of alignment about 1/4". The red is to the top left of everything else.

This makes the picture look REALLY weird.

When I use DVD2AVI when it starts saving the project it says FILM 99% when it is FINISHED it says NTSC 7%.

What am I doing wrong???

Well actually I havn't read them.

But I also didn't know whick catagory this fit in so I thought I would put it in both. I apoligize I didn't mean to cause any problems
