Hello,

I tried to convert a divx movie to svcd but i ran into some problems.

The movie is "Jay & Silent Bob" by dominion.
I wanted to make a 2pass VBR and convert it to PAL.

I used the bitrate calc. on vcdhelp.com as it was the only one i knew about.
Entering the length of the movie, 100minutes, it calculated my avg. bitrate to 2037 with an audio bitrate of 128 using 2 80min. cd´s.

So i used 2037 as the avg. 0 as the lowest and 2560 as the highest.

Conversion went fine, the problem is the size of the mpeg files i end up with. Each file for CD1 and CD2 is 930mb and is way too big to burn on an 80min cd.

What could have caused this problem?, could it be because i chose to convert it to a PAL svcd?

i used TMPG PRO version 2.53.35.130

any help would be appreciated.
thanks :)

The answer to you question is quite simple, just lower the max bit rate. Not that I use a bitrate calculator but I think it gives you the max bitrate not the average. So use your calculated rate as your max and not your average and see how you go
