Don't let the terrorists win! HELP ME!
I give up.
I have tried for a week to get a Divx file encoded so it will play on my DVD player.....on a DVD.....I don't want to burn two VCD's I want to burn ONE DVD.
I finally got to the point that after I burned it, I had no audio.
The problem is: Most of the guides are written to assume that I already have at least PART of a clue about this subject, and I don't.
I'm left to guess, and I usually guess wrong.
IS THERE A STEP-BY-STEP EASY TO FOLLOW METHOD TO DO THIS?

I want to take a movie-----and make it play on my DVD set-top.

Just to let you know that I'm not completely incompetent, I did manage to rip, decode, re-encode, strip, and burn a copy-DVD and it works great. I thought what I'm trying to do now was supposed to be simpler.
I CAN'T GET IT TO WORK, AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M DOING WRONG! I SPENT 12 HOURS ENCODING MY FILE WITH "TMPEG" YESTERDAY, AND AFTER IT WAS FINALLY FINISHED, I HAD NO AUDIO!...and the file went from 550 to 2200 megs in size.
I give.
Throwing in the towel.
Please help.

You have apparently not yet read the forum rules. Please click on the link, you'll find it at the top of every page. You seem to have missed rules 1a, 2, and 10.

This for one will make pretty much everyone ignore you. How is your post related to terrorism?

The Caps Lock button is on your left. If you see all caps when you type, please hit the Caps Lock button once to turn off all caps so that you don't bug everyone who reads it. Just making sure you know that. *Sarcasm*

I can't really help you with the problem at hand, but I'm answering the "Or have I just been labled 'not worth a response'?" question.

Wellll, I dont meant to be mean... but is it really worth that much work? I'd just forget about it and buy the original DVD.
