I have a QPS External firewire drive on my computer. When I first fired up DVDDecrypter the drive was visible. No however it will not show up in the source drive pull down list. I have tired rescanning the scsi/aspi but to no avail. I ran aspichk and everything looks fine. Smartripper sees the drive just fine. I just don't understand why DVDDecrypter no longer works. Is there and INI file I can adjust or a registry setting.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

SmartRipper just looks at the drive letters....DVD Decrypter is pure ASPI. I suspect no ASPI based programs will see your drive. Try CDRWIN and let me know if it find it. I have ways of finding possible problems, but i need to work you through it in real time.
Come and find me in #pcdvd on EFNET (IRC).
What do you mean:
>When I first fired up DVDDecrypter the drive was visible. No however it will not show up in the source drive pull down list.
are you saying it 'lost' the drive whilst the program was loaded?! Or are you comparing it to version 2.x? The code that finds the drives has never changed within v3.

No the first couple times I used dvddecrypter it saw my dvd burner just fine. But now for some reason it will not fine the drive.
I am using v3.0.0.12. this is the first and only version I have used. I am brand new at this so excuse me if something sounds dumb.
I will try and hook up with you tonight
Thanks for the response

Have you updated your aspi layer at all?
If it worked once, and now it doesnt, it cant really be a problem with my program now can it! It only does the same things each and every time it is run. Did you try Cdrwin?

I think I figured out what may have screwed the aspi layer up.. I installed powerdvd and that seems to be when my burner was lost to dvddecrypter. It is also missing in cdrwin and can't be accessed using aspi by smartripper. If I run aspichk it shows that everything is ok, but it isn't obviously. I have tried dloading the newest aspi from adaptec and that didn't work either. I even tried unistalling powerdvd and then reintalling aspi from adaptec and also forceaspi1.7. Nothing works.. I am stumped.
If you have any ideas that may help me out I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for all you help

Try ahead's aspi manager, you can get it here: http://lightninguk.dns2go.com
Just put it in the same folder as DVD Decrypter. It will pick it up automatically

You are the man. Thank you for all your help. That worked.. If I put that file in the CDrWin folder will it work there also??

erm you could do it like that, but its far easier to just put one copy in the winnt\system32 folder and be done with it :)
