Does anyone know how to make them work together?
I have chosen Sigma designs hollywood+ as the hardware decoder in the preferences, but when I try to preview a film it says:
"decoder connection not established"
Should I change something in regedit?
I have DVDMaestro 2915a
Another question - Is the Hollywood+ used in this program in any other way then movie preview? (like encoding or something..?)

I am NOT an expert at using Maestro with other decoder boards, but I CAN tell you that when you use the proper installer (i.e. "InstallShield") for Spruce products (regardless of whether the installer is for Performer, Maestro etc, and regardless of whether or not its 2915a - its certainly a standard option of the installer for 2.8 upwards, and possible for older versions too, although I cannot remember), there is an installable set of drivers for the Sigma Designs decoder, and the Cinemaster (~HARDware~!!) decoder, for example. This is obviously absent in the 2915a SSG Rip, and I suspect this is why you are having problems.

Also had access to a Hollywood decoder, but when I saw how well DVDMaestro worked with the software Cinemaster 2000 (codec install only is sufficient), I gave up on any idea of swopping the Hollywood from one computer to another
Certainly at faster processor speeds, the Hollywood is unnecessary (and potentially uninstallable anyway)

Hollywood Plus doesn't work with Maestro. Using Cinemaster codec is giving a perfect preview to author the project. Hollywood plus can be used as a ecxellent tool to check the final dvd after compilling to a spec. directory.

Yes, I read somewhere else now that the hollywood+ card doesnīt work with DVDMaestro - BUT, why is there an option for the card under Preferences/Decoder? - and since the program is giving me options on wich output I want to use, it seemes to recognize my card.
Sounds REALLY strange to me...

It's just a driver thing I guess. It has to be some kind of variation of the hollywood+. The dvd software for this card is the same as the Hollywood + one. Use the codec, it works perfect. After you are finished the project you can make a virtual dvd-rom with the dos "subst" command and play the dvd from your harddisk.

OK, then.
One more (stupid?) question.
How do I get DVDMaestro to use cinemasters codec?
I have Cinemaster DVDPlayer (CinePlayer 4.0).
But I cant find an option in DVDMaestro to change the codec it uses - it still seemes to choose the Hollywood+ option and says "Decoder connection not established".

After installing the codec, choose Preferences ->Decoder-> Ravisent Cinemaster Hardware Decoder. It works well.

OK, the stupid questions just keeps on coming....:D
I canīt choose cinemaster under Preferences/Decoder - that option isnīt highlighted for me (only the sigma designs option is...).
Is that because I donīt have the right codec?
(like I said I have the Cineplayer 4.0) - Should I have some kind of hardware codec??
Or do I have to remove my Hollywood+ card to get movie preview to work?
That would be a really dumb solution...

it's because the codec has to be installed. Cinemaster 2000 is the right thing to install.
