I had ripped GLADIATOR (16:9 NTSC) using SmartRipper with no problem.

in DVD2AVI I have selected ForceFilm and demux all, oddly I get 24 FPS

Then I open the proyect on GordianKnot and I get that the movie is 9389s. long, then I checked the AC3 (loaded in WMP6.4) and fount that the file is 9398s. long

Then, I converted the ac3 to wav, to mp3 guessing that the info is a WMP error, but no, WinAmp giveme the same length in any case.

WHATS WRONG ??? why the audio is larger than the video ???

I got similar problem but for me such audio/video length discrepancy caused audio/video desync. I guess the problem is that DVD2AVI changed frame rate to 24fps instead of 23.976fps. The only solution I found is to use IVTC in TMPGEnc.

I don't know which one but I think there is one version of DVD2AVI that does think it is 24.00 fps. Try a different one first before giving up.

trbarry, thanks a lot. I looked at my D2A version and it was 1.76 modified to 1.85 ver. by Gloval, and which includes on the fly mp3 compresion. Then I ran original 1.76 D2A ver. and that stupid 24fps problem was gone. Now I see perfect 23.976 frame rate when FORCED FILM=ON. Thanks, buddy :D

When I ripped Chicken Run the audio (ac3) was shorter than the video by a few seconds. However the sync was perfect all the way through. I think it was just that the sound ended before the end of the credits.

I was using DVD2AVI 1.85, I downgraded to 1.76 and the fps was 23.96 again, and this time everything is n'sync ;) again.. THANKS
