Hi, my o/s is windows 98se, pentium 3 800mhz, 256mb ram and 30gb hard drive. I'm trying to convert swordfish dvd, 16:9, region 2 PAL. The problem is that when cce encoding is running at 4% I get this message:

'CCE Encoding failed. Error:video check sum is different from that of previous pass. Source video data or time code may be different. Please check video tape or the information file.
information:
Current check sum = OOa565aa
Previous check sum = OOa565a4'

Also the speed at which it converts at has only been to 0.277 at the most is this because of the spec of my computer? because it is taking ages?

This is a copy of the log, it is only for the cce encoding part as I used crash recovery after rebooting my comp:

You need to search around the forums, there are multiples posts on CheckSum errors and how to avoid them. There are also CCE Patches that solve some check sum errors....read the FAQ.

I would recommend trying single pass VBR first. I have done 20+ movies on single pass VBR and have been very pleased with the results, I had problems with getting multipass to work on my AMD 1.4 Ghz machine with 768 mb of memory. The single pass IMHO looked so good I never bothered trying multipass again.
