When you change the quality(for vorbis) from 4.99 = 126kbits to 5 the kbits become 160 instead of 5 = 128. So all bitRates above 126kbits are incorrectly selected.

This is not a bug in headac3... this is a "feature" in the ogg encoder
@-q5 the encoder turns on lossless channel coupling.. thats why you get the bitrate jump..

Buba is correct. It's the nature of the Ogg encoder.

Hehe, I thought that the upcoming 0.22b release will be good for some experts. ;)

@darkavenger re: the new options in headac3he 0.22b...
i didn't even know it was possible to have eight-phase stereo coupling (i'm assuming that's what the "light lossy" option is) in quality >= 5. is this something that's just in your modified dll or is there an option somewhere in oggenc for this as well? couldn't find anything in your docs giving any more detail about this.

He he, you know pretty well, perhaps more than me. No oggenc (AFAIK)doesn't have this option, but uses that default for q 3 to 4.99, if I understood correctly. I went a bit through the sources and put em in. :) But yes, 8 phase should be light. I haven't updated the docs yet for this.
