Stuttering/outta sync problem w/Sasami2k and "Me, Myself and Irene"

I got a dvdrip (2 cd) of "Me, Myself and Irene" from a friend and I'm having major problems with it. I only used Sasami2k to play it. WMP has even worse playback and I don't like to use it.

First of all, here's my system spec for all to laugh at;
P2 300Mhz
192mb ram
IBM 40gig @ ATA 33
Win 98se
Ati Rage Pro 4mb AGP
Soundblaster Awe64

Sasami2k b757

File info:
704x416, 24bit, 98700 frames, 29.970fps, 216kbps, divxV3
samp rate = 48kHz stereo MP3

OK, first problem: Movie loads slowly and the sound is outta sync with the picture immediately (sound starts before pic and they never catch up again). I can't even remedy this by skipping forward manually as the pic still takes longer time to start than the audio. Dunno if its an audio sync prob or my comp too slow?

Second problem: A TON of frames will be missing (I set Sasami2k to skip corrupt frames) about every 1-2 mins. Again, dunno if its really corrupt frames or my comp to slow?

Third and last...sampling rate has to be set manually everytime to 44kHz or else audio sounds like mono crap... is this due to my Soundblaster not being having 48kHz sampling rates? Anyway to "set and forget"?

OK, so I'm a newb and I don't have a clue what might be causing all this crap beside the two things that I've mentioned...crappy ripping/encoding or my crappy computer not fast enough to display this particularly style of encoded movie (althought it plays all my other movies (only anime so far) fine).

Is there anything I can do (beside upgrading spec and blah blah blah) to fix this problem?
Would any other player, ie Zoom Player or Divx Plus, be able deal with this problem?

ANY suggestions welcomed, beside flames and "newbit DIE" msg =)

hey bob,

I'd say your video card is a bit dated to be trying to watch divx movies with. Personally I'd say 8 megs is about a bare minimum for what you'd like to be doing. but it's possible GDiVX will be able to play your movie on your current system. check out http://www.divxity.com and download GDiVX, its a divx player that uses very few system resources and has a min requirement of a p2-233. but again I think you're basically going to have to upgrade your video card, playing back a movie with a resolution of roughly 700 x 400 at 29.97 fps is asking a great deal from a 4 meg vid card. hope this helps.
