Hi Doom9,

A few days back you reccomended to delete a registry item to improve performance of right clicking for properties in Windows XP. I did what you said and sure enough the speed was much better. :)

Unfortunately, there is no longer any information given about the movie file? Like bitrate, resolution, running time, etc. :(

Is there anyway to get this feature back? Or if not is there a little app that will tell some info about a movie file?

Thanks,

Dali

Yep..it gets rid of the properties page. I can verify this as well using XP. Not sure how to restore it though.

Oh well...beats the alternative still.

i made a backup reg key to merge what i deleted. but i did doom9's fix and installed DivX 5.0 Pro at relatively the same time, now all of a sudden some files refuse to open. i've been getting unable to download compressor, file format is invalid, etc errors while others still continue to play. im not sure what codec was used to encode them, and i can't see the properties since even after putting the registry key back in, i still can't see .avi properties.

does someone out there have any sort of advice? i've been installing and uninstalling divx 3.11 4.12 and 5.0 over and over again, in different orders and configurations but still no dice.

i tried running this program called Total AVI tags editor and for the movie files that i can't open i get this error

"*.avi doesn't comply RIFF format"

what did i do wrong?!
