divx5....looks good only with playa???

When i watch divx5 movies in WMP, MDVDP,BSPlayer etc, they looks awful........but when i watch them in Playa, they looks great........is this any trick from the creators of divx5????

Two friends of mine have the same problem with different configurations......p4 and amd proccesors.....

alx, what's your video card and os? it sounds lik yuv overlay is working for the player and not for the ds filter

Hi, i have a Creative Anhilator Pro (GeForce DDR) with the latest detonator (27.42), and i use w98se and w2k in a dual boot........
My machine is an Athlon 1.4, but two friends of mine, have p4 and p3 with nvidia based videocards too, and have the same problems...

With Divx3.11 and 4.12 have NO problems at all...........

I ran into the same problem and found a way to correct the problem on my K6-2 500(with Voodoo 3). To fix the codec do the following.

1. If you installed it overtop your 4.12 without uninstalling, uninstall it, then re-install Divx 5.0(or pro)
2. After the codec is re-installed on your Start Menu go to:

Programs---->DivX---->Divx 5.0(or Pro) Codec

and run the Decoder Configuration

3. Adjust the quality level until it corrects the syncronisation of your avis.

On my system this gave me great playback with MicroDvd.

Btw For those of you watching your Divxes on TV, you may want to lower the Brightness setting(about 5 to 10 spots) to dispose of those annoying macroblocks.
