recommended video codec for low bit rate 352x240 realtime capture

I got a bunch of Benny Hill videos and was thinking of captureing it to digital format.

my resoultion will be either 320x240 or 352x240 and bitrate of 300kbs to 500kbs

just wanna do a direct realtime capture with no reencoding.
which codec will give me the best quality per bitrate?

WMV, Divx5, or VP5 ?

I think capturing in realtime to a bitrate of 500k will result in a very crappy video. Better capture in Divx4 100% quality-based and do a simple re-encode to 500k (no filters, no resize - won't take too long that way)

forget iti, rencoding is abitch for me. I'll settle for crap 400k

I'm looking for some thing in realtime, VP5, WMV or DivX for one shot caping?

Xvid works good. But I use HuffYUV and then recompress to Xvid whenever possible. It just looks better.

xvid is pretty good. but for some reason I can't find the configure to set the bitrate?!

my 352x240 is smaller than 640x480 caps but I can't seem to manually set the bitrate

? I almost do not use Xvid (except for some little DSF tests), but you if you set the mode to CBR, you should see the bitrate slider...
