Hi, this may be a silly question that demonstrates my ignorance, but if I have a PAL 25 fps interlaced video source, there are two places where I can perform de-interlacing and IVTC when encoding to Divx 5:
(1) Within the Gordian Knot interface
(2) Within the Divx5 codec configuration interface in VirtualDub
Doom9's Divx5 guide skips over this, so I'm not sure if I have to turn it on in (1) and disable it in (2), or vice versa, or enable them in both. I'm not very clear on how Gordian Knot interacts with Virtualdub when using Divx5.
Doom9's guide also indicates that the interlacing/IVTC routines are different in (1) and (2); given that, which would provide me with the better quality?
Thanks in advance.
