Nan---first pass error

Hello,

I am fairly new to DVD conversions, so please bare with me.
Okay, when I set up Nandub to create a pirst pass file, after about 5 to 10 minutes of the first pass I get an error. Nandub error:
AVIoutput: the parameter is incorrect

I'm using Nicky's guide for DVD to Divx. I'm using a VFPI AVI file with wave audio. I'm trying to do the first pass so that I can continue with the encoding process.(adjust bitrate, etc...) I have already cropped the video. oh, I'm using Nandub version 1.0rc2. I tried a version of Nandub being added to Virtualdub, but it didn't seem to work right. Maybe someone cann suggest the correct versions to combine.
Not sure if this is too much or not enough info.

Use Doom9's SBC-guide instead of Nicky's.

Would save you a lot of time - and you shouldn't run into any problems.
