It sounds like they're are telling XviD is a leaked DivX5 or something? Sorry that my spanish (?) is too bad to understand that...

didn't think i'd ever need spanish again....

well, i'm not sure but the thread is about the fact (or rumour?) that divx5 won't be free anymore. the reply to this post says that there is a much better codec named ..... XVID! it's nothing about a leaked version, the post you linked is just an instruction on how to install the codec.

so by now maybe even the spanish know that divx is dead? ;)

yeah, they saying that divx 5 will be a paid solution so they must start thinking in moving toward xvid.... because is fre, open source and better... :) sorry my english :D

Koepi, those guys are indicating your site for someone looking for instructions on xvid.
Because I am from Portugal, Spanish hasn't any secrets to me :D (I think...)

They are asking if one can have xvid installed with dvix in the same computer, if it has any incompatibilities. And if xvid works with Vdub

By the way, there is a new Vdub version, 1.4.9
