View Full Version : rempeg2 wont open cffl file?
I am having a wierd problem with rempeg2, in that I cannot get it to open any files anymore.
I was using it yesterday and everything was ok, now it wont open any vob, no matter if it is in an original format, where it is on any drive etc. I already deleted the vinf files, and tried to create new cffl files, but no good.
Also tried different use of caps for names, directories, the start of the file etc. Even downloaded a fresh copy and tried that. Tried a scandisk and still no luck. Tried under win2000 and 98, ntfs and fat32.
Any other ideas?

This file must contain as first line:
CFFL
Does it?

GDA or Derrow,
I'm having the same problem. ReMPEG2 has mysteriously stopped working. It was working fine yesterday, and today I tried to use it for transcoding Hardball. It frose at 92% when making the .vinf file. Now it won't open ANY cffl file, not even past ones that I wrote. And of course they all have "cffl" in the first line.
Any ideas? :(
yep,
when running, it creates a file called something like *.cffl.vinf - if this file is open it will not run properly - best to delete it and create the cffl from scratch.
My original problem was solved by looking at the cffl file in the morning when I had not been drinking, when I noticed all my file names were wrong by an extra _0 or something.

I had the same problem with Hardball quitting at 92% using REMPEG2

Not wishing to 'teach my granny to suck eggs' If anything like that happens to me, I usually un-install the application and then re-install it. That usually sorts out spurious problems like that.
Happy ripping:)

jslombar : Don't you use a FAT32 filesystem which limit file size to 4GB what could be your stop at 92% ?
Prefer NTFS which can handle any size of file (NT,2K and XP only)
hope this helps

Thanks for your reply klona. That could have been what my problem was. I have Windows XP Professional update from Windows 98. I have 2 drives my C drive is FAT32 and my other drive is NTSF file format. Well I ended up using CCE Method to shrink the movie, and used SpruceUp 1.1 to Author the DVD. All my files were on my NTSF drive.
Everything worked perfectly.

Trying to fix a different problem but found this in your thread, win 98 cannot be converted to ntfs?
