DVD ROM not switching to DMA mode
:
First excuse my English, i'll try to do my best; so here is my problem:
I have a 16x E 616 ASUS DVD-ROM and it refused to work as Ultra-DMA, the bios reported that it's an ultra-DMA (ATA 100) but I can't activate DMA mode under Win 98. Anytimes I 'm trying to enable it, the setting is forgotten with the reboot.
I only achieve 1.3x with SmartRipper and when paying a DVD, it sometimes freezes
ATHLON TB 1,33 GHZ
KT7 PRo Via chipset.
2566 Mo SDRam
TNT2 64.
Note: I've try to put it as slave on IDE 1
Master on IDE 2
.
Via 4 in 1 drivers installed
I've been looking for posts dealing with such a problem and Ericgur may have had the same one but i can't understand wh
at i exactly did to solve it.
Thx in advance for any help.
