Problems ripping audio dvd's

I'm just trying to find out where i go wrong ripping audio dvd backup's. Everytime i rip the dvd and convert the audio it turns out spot on and the lipsync the same, but the picture is perfect only when the camera is staying fairly still, as soon as it moves, or pan's L or R the the picture seems to jump in fames , or steps fairly quickly( can't find the right words to explain )hope you get the drift.

When i rip a dvd movie the copy turns out perfect, so i don't understand!

deinterlace might solve your problem.

Ok, am i able to use crash recovery to do the deinterlace and if i can from what part do i have to start it from.

I have never before used this option, and i really don't now how to apply it and what settings to use etc...

you have to do the video encoding again. it's probably best (fail proof) to just start all over again. try "smart deinterlace", it worked for me in the past.

perhaps there is someone out there who knows better? :)

Hi there,

most concert DVDs are captured interlaced and therefore the most of them are true interlaced. If you want to watch them with your standalone on your TV only then you usually don't have to deinterlace such movies because you can't see this effect on TV. Other is with your PC monitor because it's a progressive display and you will see interlacing artifacts - if this is the case (you want to watch them on PC) you should deinterlace.

If you have distortions on your TV then there might be a field order problem - you should try to uncheck the "Upper field first" setting in "Encoder" tab and only do a small chapter for testing purposes - see Q&A on that (Q46 or Q47 - I guess) - and see if this will render your conversion fine.

There's also a solution to re-flag already rendered MPEG files to a different field-order with pulldown.exe - search the forum on that (try "field AND order" for keywords and "Mozart" for user name). If you want to deinterlace you have to encode the video again.

Thanks alot for your solutions , everything went well and is working correctly. Picture perfect and sound the same.
I did uncheck "upper field first " and also at the sametime did a smart deinterlace.

P.S Could i leave these options checked without any effect in future ripping.
