Every video I have ever encoded with TMPGenc always comes out looking pretty much similar to the DVD, with respect to the aspect ratio. If it was in 16:9 and I encoded it to 4:3 the finished product would still look like wide screen format. I guess this is what you would call it, the black bars on the top and bottom. This way the picture didn't look stretched.
The last couple of movies I encoded (SVCD both CBR & VBR) have lost the widescreen affect when they are played on my 4:3 TV. The movies look a bit stretched. What function in TMPGenc can correct this, I have tried different aspect ratios and video arrange methods thinking this would correct it. But obviously I am wrong. They look stretched in Media Player, Power DVD and on my APEX and Sony DVD players.
How do I rezize these or is that the way they are suppose to look; that is losing the widescreen affect
