I have the Pioneer A03 burner installed in a firewire case cuz I like the ability to hot swap with another computer. Authoring apps such as DVDit,VP5, etc. recognizes the burner with no problem but I haven't been able to author DVDs with this software that are compatible to my pioneer dv333 setop player. I can burn compatible dvds with spruceup but it won't recognize the dvd burner unless it's connected to the an ide channel. Anyone have success with spruceup and a dvd burner in a firewire case?

try setting that drive to PIO instead of DMA.
i have an A03 in a firewire box and have no problems burning.
although i haven't tried spruceup.

Hi,

compile to Disc and burn with PrimiDVD (new PxEngine).

@Chumboy:
There's no DMA Setting when connected to a Firewire Port.
